Design Process

Just moved to NYC from California, I am amazed to see how many people are so dressed up and pay so much attention to their appearnaces. In Bay Area where I lived, everyone literally just dress like garbage (hoodies,sweatpants,t-shirts that have been clearly thrown into the washing machine and dryer so many times that they don't fit their owners anymore). So I decided to track how many stylish people (strangers only) I ran into everyday for seven days. Every time I see someone stylish or attractive or both, I put down an emoji that I think best captures their vibe on my Notes.

Reflection

This project was fun and made me appreciate the beauty (literally) of people around me even more. There are two days when I ran into significantly more attractive people than the rest. I was going out with friends in the city for the weekend. On Saturday, 10.9, I was visiting a friend at Columbia University. As I walked across the capmus, I run into their women's volleyball team on their way to training. Everyone was wearing the Columbia baby blue uniform, which explains the many "💙" on that day. The next day, I was hanging out with another friend in Midtown and Downtown. We spent a lot of time walking on the street and stopped by several parks. This allowed me to run into more people and actually pay attention to their styles or appearances. While on weekdays, I'm mostly working or in class, which means I cannot pay as much attention to people around me as the druing the weekends.
